I was a girl scout from about 1952 to 1961 and
attended the Los Angeles Council summer camp at Osito-Rancho from 1957 to
1961. I have old pictures, my "camp book," a little black notebook into
which I wrote the words to our camp songs, names of campers and unit
leaders and many wonderful memories.
I hiked to the top of "Greyback" twice with
pack burrows down the Seven Oaks Trail from Big Bear Lake and up through
Slushy Meadows and Poopout Hill. The view from the top was like that in
the Sound of Music. I was also selected to go to the 1961 Round-up at Lake
Champlain, VT but lost my nerve at the last moment (actually fell in
love), so I never went.

near La Crescenta, CA. That shirt is probably from 1986 or so. The camp is
no longer part of the Girl Scout organization though. Great site.
