as you will see, these pics are from camp henry kaufmann (chk--as everyone
called it). this camp is located in bolivar, pa. it was sold in 2004 to
a natural gas company to put wells on it. it is a beautiful camp with
many fond memories. i worked there for a few years in the 90's, and loved
every minute of it. i have plenty of other recent pics of the whole camp
if more are needed. it's great to see a website devoted to preserving
those much needed memories. i hope you can use these.

Vandals attacked a
Girl Scout campground over the weekend, leaving each of the six large cabins
at Camp Indian Run in shambles, police said. ``Somebody just absolutely
destroyed it,'' East Brandywine Chief Raymond Copp said of the campground on
Indian Run Road. ``What was once a nice Girl Scout camp is just a mess.''
Each of the camp's six eight-bed cabins and each of the six adjacent
restrooms suffered extensive damage - 1998 online article.

STAND ALONE-Camp Wood Haven staff members from left, Gabrielle O'Connor, Katie
McGinn, and Bethany Berger, look off one of the walkways, about 20 feet off of
the ground, at "Bird Song," the newly built tree house cluster at the Girl
Scout camp in Pine Grove Township. The cluster, opened by Girl Scouts of
Eastern Pennsylvania, is made up of five wooden tree houses that accommodate
five girls each. There's another tree house for group activities that has
electricity and running water. |
