Girl Scout Hankies
Girl Scout hankies and headscarves have been offered from the earliest days. The 1928 catalogs offered both a linen hanky with the GS embroidered in the corner (35 cents), as well as a less expensive cotton version (20 cents). The late 1940's and 1950's brought a explosion of colorful items, some only offered for 1 year in the catalog, others enduring for many years.

The Altvaters donated this image of a unique Girl Scout Neckerchief for camp. It is about 9" square. The address of 189 Lexington was active from July 1919 until October 1924.

 

This page covers hankies, generally anything in the 12" x 12" range with a finished (hemmed) edge.

White cotton or cotton blend hankies were very popular. Some hanky GS designs were only sold in set of 3 and there was a white GS embroidered on white hanky offered for awhile.
