The headscarf, or just scarf, was a must for every young lady in the 1940's
and 1950's. Not shown - a Mariner's scarf was offered for several years, white
rayon with the GS Mariner logo, also a scarf from 1959.

Originally called a "Sports Scarf", this scarf first
appeared in the catalog in 1938. Showing a map of the Girl Scout regions,
it is highly collectible today. The 1940 catalog calls it an "Anniversary
Scarf". Made of 100% acetate, it measures 19" square and is hard to find
in good condition. Came in 4 colors; red, blue, green and yellow.
