The mermaids of Girl Scouting had fun in the sun with their Girl Scout swim suits on!

 

The first official Girl Scout bathing suit was listed in the 1930 catalog, and the last time one was listed was in 1970. They were usually listed in the Spring issue, but did not show up every year.

                                   

     The only thing that identifies this      bathing suit as Girl Scout is the label. The catalog listing is from 1930.

                    

1932-33

1938 - 1941

This suit does not show or note if the Girl Scout logo was used. 1941

1942 - the 1943 version was 43% wool, 57% cotton

1944 - no swim suits were offered in 1945 or 1946

1947

 

 

1948-1950 (similar to suit below left, only no rickrack)

1949-1953

1949-1951

1951 offered 2 Brownie swimsuits! This style was offered through 1961

From 1962-1969 this basic style was offered, however the green and white stripes keep changing back and forth throughout the years!
