Girl Guiding
Blue Angel Poem
She
sat upon a puffy cloud,
Her dress a sapphire blue,
Around her head a halo shone,
Aglow with softest hue.
You see, she belonged to Girl Guides.
She always did her best,
She used her strengths in many ways,
With never a moment's rest.
She taught the Sparks to sing and share,
And Brownies to lend a hand,
Sold cookies door-to-door for miles,
'Til she could hardly stand.
With Guides she camped in rain and snow,
But still she wasn't through,
Pathfinders and Senior Branches called,
There was always lots to do.
Canoeing, climbing, crafts and more,
She learned to do them all.
Whenever help was needed
She was there to answer the call.
She deserved to sit upon that cloud,
She'd given many a day,
As teacher, mentor, leader, friend,
To show the Guiding way.

Girl Scouting
Green Angel Poem
I
dreamed I went to heaven and saw among the dead,
An angel dressed in green, a halo 'round her head.
And she looked kind of funny, midst all the glaring white.
The others asked her jealously what gave her such a right.
I'm a Girl Scout Leader and I lay no hold to fame,
but being such a person means more than just a name.
My jobs on earth were many, praise and thanks were few.
I did more work in one day than ten people ought to do.
I was a tin can cooker, a hiker, a pathfinder,
I've also been an artist, a sailor, a bookbinder.
I taught jumping jills to dance, I taught parrots to sing.
I made saints out of hoodlums, while mama had her fling.
I walked the streets 'till my feet felt like a ton of bricks,
Helping sell Girl Scout cookies 'till the mere thought made me sick.
But still it was a lot of fun, Life was never a bore,
See...the role isn't new to me...I've been a Green Angel before!
