Sanskrit for
"going together" and pronounced Song'g'm, the fourth and final World
Center officially opened October 16, 1966. The opening date was chosen so
that delegates from the 19th World Conference in Tokyo could plan to
attend. The 7+ acre site is located in India on the bank of the Mulla River.
Information gleaned from the WAGGGS and
Sangam web sites mention that the symbolism of the logo is based on the
yin/yang symbol of balance. The mascot of Sangam is an elephant named Sangelee.
