Girl Scout Purses 1942 -1975

Prior to World War 2, there were no purses offered for Girl Scouting.  World War 2 brought about the "Service Bags" - unmarked large cloth bags. In 1943 the first Girl Scout purse was shown in the GS catalog.

1976 brought the first Girl Scout "canvas bag" and Girl Scout purses went into decline.
